Overview:

This film competition wants to know about a way that you took a positive direction towards your safety, housing, education, or even your mental health.  You don't need special effects and you don't need to have awesome equipment (Even a webcam will do!) All you need is your story and the will to motivate other people!


 

CONTEST RULES:

 

Each participant may submit 1 entry.  All submissions must be submitted to Youtube and info@ohryc.org before March 1, 2009 (By midnight February 28th). Late entries will not be accepted. All submissions must be original work of the youth.


 

ELIGIBILITY:

 

The Project Invoke: Phase 2 Short Film Competiton is only open to youth 24 or younger who have directly experienced homelessness.  By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Contest Rules and the Terms and Conditions of the contest. The Oregon Homeless and Runaway Youth Coalition reserves the right (but is not obligated) to verify eligibility qualifications of any entrant or winner.


 

HOW TO ENTER:

 

Beginning on November 5, 2008 but prior to March 1, 2009.

 

Let us know when you have uploaded your video by e-mailing us: info@ohrcy.org

 

Once we get your e-mail, you will receive a  confirmation that you have been entered in the contest...it's that easy!

VIDEO CRITERIA:


All videos must:

 

Be at least 50 seconds long. (Not to exceed 4 minutes)
 
Must be submitted through YouTube. At the start of the video, say "This video is for Project Invoke: Phase 2." 
 
Videos must talk about the steps you took that ended your homelessness or moved you in a positive direction (i.e., away from drugs, towards your GED, stable housing, or supportive community relationships).




Videos will be judged by your peers on the following criteria:


 

1.      Creativity


2.      Message clarity and concordance

         with the Video Criteria


3.      Motivation and inspiration


4.      Overall impact

Don't forget to let us know when you have posted on YouTube!  E-mail us the YouTube link at info@ohryc.org and we will send you an official confirmation that your video has been entered in The Project Invoke: Phase 2 Short Film Competition!

 

1st Prize = $125

2nd Prize = $75

3rd Prize = $50

 

Contestant awards will be announced 

March 10th, 2009
